On 2 June 2026, for the Republic Day, the Museum exceptionally opens on Tuesday, and closes on the next Wednesday 3 June.
The entrance will be free for all!
It will be an extraordinary opportunity to visit the permanent collections and the new temporary exhibition Parthenope. The Siren and the city, dedicated to the long-standing relationship between the Siren Parthenope and the city of Naples, spanning history, myth, archaeology, and cultural anthropology, from the first Greek settlement on the promontory of Pizzofalcone to the street art of contemporary Naples.
The exhibition is introduced by a site-specific work in the entrance hall of the museum, by the artist Francisco Bosoletti, focused on the Siren Parthenope’s suicidal dive, mithical event at the origin of the city, then it continues in the rooms on the third floor of the museum building.
Do not miss the opportunity to visit the new Numismatics and Goldsmiths section, open from 9.30 am until 1.30 pm.
On the occasion of the free entry for all, the Secret Cabinet, the Egyptian and the Magna Graecia collection are closed to the public for security reasons.
Free tickets cannot be booked in advance, but they can be picked up the same day at the ticket office.
