Galleries open to the public every day

Egyptian, Gems, Roman Campania, Mosaics, Secret Cabinet, Objects of Daily Life from the Vesuvian Area, Domus (furnishings from Pompeii), Frescoes, Temple of Isis galleries.

 

Sections open on a rotation basis:

From 25 May 2026 until 31 december, the Numismatics and Goldsmiths section will be open every day on a rotational basis:

Monday, Thursday and Saturday: AFTERNOON (2.30 pm – 6.30 pm)
Wednesday, Friday and Sunday: MORNING (9.30am – 1.30 pm)

 

From 24 April to 31 May 2026 Prehistory and Protohistory, Island of Ischia, Piana Campana and Magna Graecia galleries, according to the following weekly schedule:

Monday, Friday
MORNING (9:00 AM – 2:00 PM): Prehistory and Protohistory, Island of Ischia, Piana Campana
AFTERNOON (2:10 PM – 7:10 PM): Magna Graecia

Wednesday, Saturday
MORNING (9:00 AM – 2:00 PM): Magna Graecia
AFTERNOON (2:10 PM – 7:10 PM): Prehistory and Protohistory, Ischia Island, Piana Campana.

This schedule refers to the minimum guaranteed opening hours.

 

On the 3rd of April 2026 the exhibition “Parthenope. The Siren and the city” will open to the public. – The exhibition focuses on the long relationship of the Siren Parthenope with the city of Naples.

Temporary closures

The Farnese sculptures section will be closed to the public until further notice. Access to the Farnese Gems section will, however, be guaranteed.

In the framework of the project “The MANN and the environment: energy efficiency works for a sustanaible museum”, funded by the Next Generation EU programme “PNRR”, the Farnese collection is undergoing a serie of works aimed at improving the lighting system, in terms of energy saving and emphasis on the artefacts on the display. We apologize for the inconvenience, still we believe in a more and more welcoming museum, able to cope with today’s challenges: in order to do all this, we need also your help!

Galleries closed to the public for safety reasons on Free Admission Days:

Secret room, Egyptian and Magna Graecia galleries.

Galleries currently closed to the public for refurbishment:
Villa dei Papiri (the most representative works are temporarily on display in the Hall of the Sundial and room 83)
Epigraphic collection

Please note that some galleries may close without notice due to unforeseen and unforeseeable circumstances, always related to protection and security reasons of the museum facilities and its heritage. In these cases, the ticket office at the entrance will be promptly informed.

No refunds will be allowed due to the abovementioned exceptional event.
