 #domenicalmuseo, 2 of August 2026, the initiative of the Ministry of Culture which promotes free entry in all museums and archaeological parks is back again.

It will be an extraordinary opportunity to visit the permanent collections and the new temporary exhibition Parthenope. The Siren and the city, dedicated to the long-standing relationship between the Siren Parthenope and the city of Naples, spanning history, myth, archaeology, and cultural anthropology, from the first Greek settlement on the promontory of Pizzofalcone to the street art of contemporary Naples.

The exhibition is introduced by a site-specific work in the entrance hall of the museum, by the artist Francisco Bosoletti, focused on the Siren Parthenope’s suicidal dive, mithical event at the origin of the city, then it continues in the rooms on the third floor of the museum building.

In order to guarantee an enjoyable and safe experience to all visitors, it is important to know that:

  • Tickets: On free entry days, tickets cannot be booked in advance, but they can be picked up the same day at the ticket office.
  • Gallery opening schedule: The Numismatic and Goldsmiths gallery will be open only in the morning until from 9.30 to13.30.

  • Closed galleries: Due to security reasons, the Secret room, the Egyptian and the Magna Graecia sections are closed.
