From Mesomede to Morricone
Promenade concert by “Solisti della Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti”
The “Solisti della Nuova Orchestra Alessandro Scarlatti” will take visitors along a musical journey, walking through the collections of the Museum. From the melodies by Mesomede, one of the very rare examples of ancient music that has survived to this day, following the common thread of an inspiration to the past and its reinvention, they will move on to the archaic and simultaneously contemporary soundcapes of Debussy’s famous Syrinx, Britten’s enchanting Metamorphoses (from Ovid), Berio’s Lied, to finally go back to classical music with the “Hunt” for solo corno by Rossini. An extraordinary variety of colours and emotions which will naturally lead to the final moments with music by Morricone, Rota and others in the Hall of the Sundial.
The concert is a free event for those who have bought a regular ticket of the Museum.
