The Museum is open from Monday to Sunday from 9.00 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.

It is closed on Tuesday.

It is closed on December 25th and January 1st.

We recomend to come from 12 to 15 for an average three hous visit of the museum. 

The collection Magna Graecia will be closed to the public on free entry days: The First Sunday of October, November and December.

The collection of Villa dei Papiri will be closed until 5 December 2019 for technical reason

Tuesday is the weekly closing day , the Direction  may decide any further change for technical problems

PUBLIC HOLIDAYS:

The Museum is regularly open from 9.00 to 19.30 during the public holidays of 25 APRIL , 1 MAY, 2 JUNE, 15 AUGUST, 1 NOVEMBER, 8 DECEMBER E 26 DECEMBER 2019.

Reduced price: 2 euros for EU citizens between 18 and 25 years old.

Special ticket: € 9  all the days from Wednesday to Monday, from 5 Pm until closing time for Artecard Holders or Carers of Openmann Subscriber.

The ticket office of the Museum and the bookshop close half an hour before at 19.00.

The service works from Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.; on Saturday from 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.

The online ticket is an open ticket that can be used until 31 December 2019 and allows the visitor to skip the queu, going straight to the dedicated desk.

Reservation is compulsory for school-groups from February to May

  • for the staff the of ICCROM (International Organization for Conservation of Cultural Heritage);
  • for EU student groups of State and private schools, accompanied by a teacher every 10 students, on reservation;
  • for teachers and students of Italian universities and Fine Arts Academies, masters or postgraduate courses and PhD in Architecture, Preservation of Cultural Heritage, Educational Sciences and Arts or Humanities with archeological and historical-artistic programs, as well as students and teachers of equivalent universities and specialization schools in other Eu Countries. Tickets are released upon presentation of registration certificate valid for the current year;

  • for Eu disabled citizens accompanied by a member of family or an operator working at the National Health Insurance Service;
  • for operators of voluntary associations who promote and spread the knowledge of cultural heritage, on the basis of the present agreements drawn up with the Ministry, according to the article 112, paragraph 8 of the code.
