Charles III and antiquities: Naples Madrid and Mexico City curated by Valeria Sampaolo
The exhibition focuses on the figure of Charles of Bourbon as a popularizer of the discoveries of the rising Archeology especially by means of the volumes printed by the real printworks founded by himself. The restoration of 200 matrices of the over 5000 matrices kept in the Museum, completed by the Central Graphics Institute in 2015, is an occasion to study in detail even the technical aspects of engraving and printing, which will be also illustrated through loans from the National Library Vittorio Emanuele III of Naples, which owns original editions.
The initiative is carried out in agreement with Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando of Madrid and Academia de San Carlos of Mexico City.
The exhibition will stay open till March 16 th, 2017
