“The heavenly turning point. The redemption of Atlas”, by Stefano Parisio Perrotti
Curated by Marco De Gemmis and Mario Pellegrino
The old Atlas, myth of the constraint of suffering, frees himself from the heavenly vault and redeems himself. With a rebellious act he makes a fool of the orders of Zeus, because he does not want to be overwhelmed by rules, duties and sacrifices. Thanks to the works and irony of Stefano Parisio Perrotti, the emblem of imprisonment becomes the symbol of frivolity and possible dreams. It is sufficient a different point of view to create the playful upsetting of fate.
Texts of the catalogue by Marco De Gemmis, Simone Foresta, Mario Pellegrino and Ludovico Solima. With the collaboration of Mannajuolo Foundation and Al Blu di Prussia Gallery of Naples.
