“The antiquities of Palace Corigliano: from the archeological excavations to their exhibition”
Curated by Anna Maria D’Onofrio and Tobias Busen
In the early 80s archeological excavations were carried out in the courtyard of Palace Corigliano, used as the seat of the University “L’Orientale”, bringing to light an imposing main and the bed of a road of the early II century that widened the extreme southwestern part of the town. A well filled with wastes testifies the damages suffered by Neapolis because of the earthquake of 62 A.D. The exhibition, the panels of which made by students during the school activity are now on display in the Museum before being placed in Palace Corigliano, illustrates the antiquities visible in the so-called “Aula Mura Greche” of Palace Corigliano, considered in the context of the excavations and the western part of the ancient town.
With the collaboration of the University “L’Orientale” of Naples, Technische Universität München-Fakultät für Architektur, National Archeological Museum of Naples, Archeology Fine Arts and Urban Area Landscape Office of Naples.
The exhibition will stay open until November 7th , 2016
Free admittance, subject to availability, at the lecture and the opening of the exhibition
