HOURS

The Museum is open from Monday to Sunday from 9.00 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.

It is closed on Tuesday.

When Tuesday coincides with a holiday, it is closed on Wednesday.

It is closed on December 25th and January 1st.

The ticket office of the Museum closes half an hour before.

All Thursday from May 12th to September 29th 2016 the National Archeological Museum of Naples is open until 11.00 p.m. The last admission is at 10.15 p.m.

Other conditions of free admittance:

  • for Eu tourist guides in the exercise of their activity;
  • for Eu tourist interpreters in the exercise of their activity;
  • for the staff of the Ministry for Arts and Culture;
  • for the staff of the International Council of Museums (ICOM);
  • for the staff the of ICCROM (International Organization for Conservation of Cultural Heritage);
  • for EU student groups of State and private schools, accompanied by a teacher every 10 students, on reservation;
  • for teachers and students of Italian universities and Fine Arts Academies, masters or postgraduate courses and PhD in Architecture, Preservation of Cultural Heritage, Educational Sciences and Arts or Humanities with archeological and historical-artistic programs, as well as students and teachers of equivalent universities and specialization schools in other Eu Countries. Tickets are released upon presentation of registration certificate valid for the current year;
  • for Socrates and Erasmus students of the above-mentioned subjects;
  • for high school teachers of History of Art ;
  • for students of the following schools: Centres of Restoration, Factories of semiprecious stones, Schools of Mosaic Restoration;
  • for the staff of the Ministry for Arts and Culture;
  • for registered journalists from Italy and other EU Countries in the exercise of their profession, upon presentation of appropriate documents testifying their professional status;
  • for Eu disabled citizens accompanied by a member of family or an operator working at the National Health Insurance Service;
  • for operators of voluntary associations who promote and spread the knowledge of cultural heritage, on the basis of the present agreements drawn up with the Ministry, according to the article 112, paragraph 8 of the code.
